Christmas Fun

Christmas has been so much this year!  We have done lots of activities and made lots of stuff. Sophie Clare has really enjoyed all that comes with the Christmas season.

Last night we were riding around looking at Christmas lights and had the biggest surprise. There is a house that has tons of lights and we will just go and sit to look. Last night when we pulled up, you will never believe who was in the drive way??

SANTA!

It was the sweetest, considering how much Sophie Clare is into Santa.  He was so sweet!

Now back to what we have been making.

The girls were here this past Saturday and I knew they would get into making the Sugar Cone Christmas Trees. Plus I knew Sophie Clare would have more fun making them with the girls.

They had tons of fun making them and Sophie Clare had tons of fun eating the icing.  You would have thought she was a baby considering how much she wiped on her face. ;-) She is a mess!

Sophie Clare's is in the back with all the icing licked off. As soon as she put it on, she was licking it off.

We also made salt dough ornaments and Sophie Clare painted them.

 It was a lot of fun!

Here is the recipe

1/2 cup salt

1/2 cup plain flour

1/4 cup water

This would be fun to to anytime of year.

 They just take a while to dry but you can put them in the oven for a faster dry!

We also made finger print Christmas lights, reindeer ornaments and have been coloring lots of Christmas pages.

We made a cute little donut snowman and it was super easy. We used jelly beans for the nose and buttons. The fruit roll up made the perfect scarf.

I can not believe that Christmas is right around the corner. Really, it is Tuesday! Where did the month of  December go??

Confettie Fun

I just realized that I never posted this. I bought this confettie at Wal Mart and I just knew that we would have a blast crafting with it.

Confettie is tons of fun!!

DIY - Mod Podge

A couple of weeks a go I found a little inspiration from Pinterest. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a $2:00 wood wall plaque. I came home and painted it white. While it dried, I ran to church and made a copy of Sophie Clare's picture.  I cut it out and glued it to the piece of wood. After it dried, I painted it with my  mod podge. 

TA-DA 

I love how it turned out.

It has a few wrinkles but it just gives it a little character.

I plan on making a little collage area of different shapes and sizes!

Crayola Color Maker

My parents got Sophie Clare the Crayola Color Maker for Christmas.  It did not take us long to get hooked on this machine.  We have made colors since Christmas Eve. There has been been maybe 4 days that we have not made colors once or twice a day. I love it just as much as she does. It is so much fun to mix the colors and see how they will turn out.

First take the paper off the old crayons and break them into pieces.

Lay them in the tray how you want the colors to flow.

Turn the dial to turn the light on.

Let the crayons heat up......................

Then poor.

Like I said we have made tons. It comes with 2 adapters to make it eaiser for coloring.

They are so much fun to make and to color with.

I hope you all are having a great weekend. Althoug it has rained here, it has been great. We went to the Mcwain Center today with great friends, got to see my 2 sweet neices and my grandmother is coming home tomorrow!

Christmas Crafts

Can you believe that Christmas is Sunday?? 

Where did the month of December go?? 

Considering we only have a few days left of Christmas fun left, we are cramming as much Christmas fun in as we can!  I traced off some pics from the computer on card stock so that the glue and glitter would hold up on the paper. She really had a good time.  Also if you don't have glitter or you run out.........Sprinkles work just as well.

When we got tired of the sprinkles and glue, she just colored her pics with color pencils.

Here are just a few of our Christmas crafts.

It sure has been fun this Christmas! Sophie Clare has enjoyed all aspects of Christmas. From learning about Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, what the Angel said to the Sheppard's "be not afraid", Christmas songs, the lights and Santa.  I hate to see it all end for her. Tonight we road to Albertville. on Frazier Rd. They have lights that are synchronized to music and it was really good!! If you are in the area, you should check it out.

Tomorrow, we are making a Gingerbread House.

HI HO Cherry O

Good evening all!! 

 Everyone in my house is sound asleep. I am going to blog really quick and lay on the sofa!! :) Sophie Clare is my little craft girl! She loves anything to do with writing, colos (coloring), markner( markers),  glue, cutting, ect.  We had some cereal that was a little stale so we used it to make a pumpkin. I thought it turned out really cute!

We have been working on tracing things and Angie told me about a great website........Twisty noodle. You can choose from tons of color pages and change the wording and font. VERY COOL.  We did a few for the season.  We have been only tracing shapes so I thought she did really good for her 1st time.

I can not believe she is going to be 3 years old in one month! 

Where has time gone?? 

I better get busy, we have a birthday outfit, mom is working on the invite and  I have worked on the menu (a little).............still lots to do to celebrate her fabulous little life!!

 We are beyond blessed!!

Staying in and Adapting

Sophie Clare has been a bit under the weather to say the least! It all started Sunday night......seem to be a cold, just tons of drainage (I know, TMI)  We were up 3 times in the night and by morning she was running a low temp. we got ready and headed to the dr.  She was coughing so bad by the time we got there. It was pitiful. We were in the waiting room and they called up back early because she was coughing so bad.  When the dr came in she had began wheezing.  They check her for strep (thankfully not). They did breathing treatments in the office for the wheezing and said it was bronchitis.  The dr sent us home with 4 prescription and a breathing machine.  Hopefully we are on the road to recovery!

In the mean time, we have been adjusting to staying inside and not playing outside.   We have been drawing with chalk on our floors. It comes right up and really not all that messy!

She is being such a big girl about the breathing machine. We first  tried it while watching tv but she does not do that for long. So we carried it to her room and we play while she does it. We are able to color, play with blocks, puzzles and much more.  It is much better than trying to hold her still.

She is still coughing a bit and is very horse.

We did a pumpkin craft today.

She really enjoy sitting and drawing in the bath tub today. I had some bathtub paint that I had been saving for a rainy day. So she did that plus her bathtub crayons.

I will add that is much cooler today and we are loving it!!

Shaving Cream and Glue

Sophie Clare has been a bit under the weather with a runny nose and a cough. We have been inside a little more than usual this week so I decided to try and find a few new things to do. We 1st planned for Cubbies and did the activity for that. Then I found the neatest thing ever.

 Shaving Cream and Elmer's Glue

Use equal parts of both and you have puffy paint.

I love when she smiles on purpose!!

I love her so much and beyond blessed to be able to stay at home with her!

I love finding new fun things for us to do!
