Christmas Outings

One Sunday after church, we went to Birmingham to Bass Pro Shops.

Sophie Clare loves to run around and climb on the boats and 4 wheelers.

They had all the Christmas fun set up and thankfully it was not overly crowded, Now the line for Santa was a different story.

This in awful pic but Sophie Clare could not get over this thing. She just kept petting him and wanting to know all about it.

I'm sure most of you have noticed the cute old green truck outside. I thought oh this will be the cutest pic.

Yea, it's cute but not the cute I was going for.

Silly girl would not do what I wanted. ;-)

After that we went to Leeds to finish a bit of Christmas shopping. While I looked at jewelry in Charlotte Russe, this is what Sophie Clare did.

And of course she had to ride the motorcycle or as Sophie Clare says morecycle. I don't correct her, she will soon enough realize it.

One Friday night, we met our friends Dustin and Cassy in Huntsville to eat. Since they have moved, we do not get to see them near enough. When we do, it is just like old times, we pick right back up where we left off.

We ate at Cheddar's and it was so yummy.

I love some fish tacos and these were good but not near as good as Niffers in Aurburn.

After we ate, we headed to The Botanical Gardens for The Galaxy of Lights.

Sophie Clare had the best time. She was so into each story the lights told. I loved hearing her and watching her.

The week of Christmas we headed to the mall one last time to ride the money train.......

and to see Santa.

Sophie Clare Turns 6

How is it possible that I now have a 6 year old??

She has brought so much joy in my life! I don't know where I would be without her!

She has been saying for weeks "I'm about to be 6"

I would tell her but you are still 5, let's enjoy it.

The night before she turned 6.

After she went to bed, I hung a few balloons up for a morning surprise.

She did not ask for anything for her birthday. I kept asking and she never would say so I thought she would love a trampoline. So Thursday night, he went and got it. On Friday morning he put it together. I let Sophie Clare go down to my parents for a bit. She could not figure out why I would let her go outside. That afternoon we had to go somewhere so we were safe with our secret.

The next day was her big day and we told her that we had a birthday surprise.

We made her close her eyes............

She has them open but not quite looking up...............

and then she saw it.

She said "I love it"

This is the best birthday present ever!

It was super cold that day but it did not stop the jumping.

I ended up making a fire in the fire pit.

Later Emily and Gracie came over to jump and play.

We had a cookie cake and sang happy birthday.

She also got her Elf on the Shelf !

Then after a hard day of jumping, I rocked my sweet 6 year old to sleep.

The Tooth Fairy Came

A good while back, I noticed that one of Sophie Clare's bottom teeth looked a little off. I ended up checking and it find out my baby had a loose tooth. NOOOO, I was not ready for that. At first I did not tell her because I did not want her to wiggle it. ha I wanted it to stay in just as long as possible. I finally ended up telling her and every night after I brushed her teeth, we would check on it.

On Sunday morning, it look like it was just ready to pop out. This was probably about a month ago. I asked her if she cared if I tried to get it out. She did not mind at all. I could not get a grip on it. So we just left it of course.
