Pallet Love

I totally rearrange my living room a couple of weeks ago. I do not live in a huge house so sometimes you have to get creative. I have lived her almost 15 years and can not believe I have not thought of this till now.  My living room and master bedroom is probably the only thing I would change about our house.  Although in the Winter time, cozy feels good.  I moved our sofa in front of our fireplace...............yes I covered it up and using the mantel as my shelf.  I found this old "small" pallet way behind our house a few months ago. I have had it back there and not even cleaned it.  Well I got a whim to clean it up and bring it in. I loved it on my mantel but did not love the tv beside it. WHY?? It weighted the room down. We still have the "old" tv and will have it till it dies.  haha

I am loving it! ;-)

Window Treatments = YAY!!

I am excited to announce that my windows treatments are finished, all for the exception of some ribbon to tie them back with.  That will not take anything but a trip to HL. I love how they turned out. I did not want your typical rods from Lowes. I wanted something a little unique and shabby chic.

We got the dowel rods at Marvins, Jamie cut them to size and I painted them black.

I bought the glass knobs for the ends at Hobby Lobby. They were 50% off so they were around 2.00 each I think.

I also bought the cross hooks from Hobby Lobby for 50% off. They were about 2.50 each.

As you can see I did not have Jamie bend the hooks for the rod to go all the way in there. Why?? Because you only notice it if you are up close and taking pics. :-)

 I never knew that I would LOVE panels so much! 

Loving The Gray

Finally the RED dining room is gone and the NEW GRAY is here!! I LOVE it so much even though there is still tons to do. I put just a few of the same things up  just to see how it was going to look. The room looks so clean.

Looks like I need to clean that mirror. :-)

I bought some new window treatments at Target and LOVE them. I still have to get the rod and hooks. I put it on a tension rod just to see how I was going to like it.

They were a good price I thought considering how much fabric is per yard.

I still have to paint my dining room table and I really would like to have new chairs (we will see) I also have an green cabinet that we are moving out this weekend. The dining room acts as the dining room, office space, piano room and craft room.  It sometimes ends up being a catch all and that is what I am trying to move away from.

So far my colors are black, gray and white but I do plan on adding some other colors.

Halloween Mantel

Hello to all the fabulous decorators out there!!

 I have not linked up with a party in a very long time. I debated back and forth to join up wth A to Z for her Halloween  Mantel Party.  I jumped in with both feet.

The polka dotted pumpkins, I have had forever. My dad cut them for me and they were cute in there day.

 They were orange and I decided to paint them!

I love it!!

I bought a chandilier stencil at HB and painted it on burlap.

I was please with how it turned out.

My favorite is my owl plate from TJ MAXX for only $4.00.

There you have it , nothing extravagant but I like it! :)

Our New Ceiling Fan

We added a great addition to our front porch!

What??

A ceiling fan!!

We are loving it!! It is so hot hot outside so when  Sophie Clare wants to go outside and play.......... I will tell her we can go out on the porch but thats it. We can swing, write with chalk, paint, and blow bubbles. We have lots of fun things to do on the porch.

What will we do next to our porch??

Dress Form

I was looking online and saw this dress form decorated for Christmas.

I absolutely LOVED it!!

I loved it so much that I had to decorate mine!

It is not excactly like the one in the picture but I was very pleased with it!!

Closet Organizing

I love NATE Berkas!! He is wonderful and inspires me to clean, organize, decorate and save money. I am totally loving  his show.

Last week, I had Jamie make me some extra hanging space in the closet that was much needed.  I  did not really go through my clothes because I just did that not to long ago. Although I did color cordinate my side and I also had a very special helper along the way.

Look really close and you can see Sophie Clare behind the clothes.

There she is!!

Jamie was sweet enough to take one side of the closet and let me have the rest. Now  he is running a very close race in having just as many clothes as me. hehe

I went through my shoes and my mother was a help on that.

Boy, I had some ugly shoes. 

 I ended you getting rid of about 14-16 pairs shoes.

I think that is pretty good.

We were not all about our looks on this particular day.

We were on a mission.

                            

                    I still can not put all my shoes in the closet but that I am not concerned about.

                                                                            hehe

I  still have some work to do on it but I am very please so far.

Happy Fall Ya'll!!

I am so excited that today is the beginning of Fall.  Sophie Clare and I spent a lot of time outdoors today. It was so the coolest but there was a breeze blowing. We pushed the baby in the stroller, worked on cleaning up some Summer plants and read a book.  I think this Fall is going to one of the best ones yet.  I started doing a little decorating and wanted to share a few of my Fall items. 

I hope you all have had a great day.  The next few days are going to be busy so I am not sure how much blogging I will be doing............you know I will be back!!

It's Nifty and It's Thrifty

It may be Spring but it was cold, rainy and some snow.  We have stayed in all day and I don't feel that I accompished to much. Everytime I would go to do something, Sophie Clare would want to be held, so of course that is what I did.
