Sugar or Salt

A couple of weeks ago, me and 2 of my bestest friends headed out to Birmingham to do a little thrift store shopping.

  I love the thrill of what I might find.

Some of you  may think it is crazy to ever walk through the shoes but don't gag yet. lol

They have knew shoes as well and hey do you wear those bowling shoes that they spray. yuck hahah

Anyways these were WAY CUTE but to big for Andrea's little foot.

We had ok luck at the first thrift store so we thought we would break for lunch at Chick-Fil-A.  Jodi and Andrea got chicken salad and me.........well I got the fried chicken sandwhich. I love there chick-Fil-A sauce!  I did not pick up any salt but Andrea was sweet enough to get some for us. I was amazed at the size of the "salt" packets there. In Gadsden they are little bitty.........Jodi had put a little on her fries and had some left in her packet so I just used hers.

 Apparently the fries were salty enough because we were putting SUGAR on our fries. bahahaha.

Andrea felt so bad but  they were good.

It was a good laugh for the day!!  

Then we were off to our next stop and we all hit the jack pot!!

We found really cute necklaces!! Andrea got Max some really cute clothes! I got me a couple of dress for Summer.  Jodi got an Ann Talor dress for like 4.00.

I would say my favorite find of the day was my 1.00  Gold shoes at Plato's cCoset and this adorable hand smocked dress!!

Girls, I had so much fun and can't wait to do it again!!

Let It Snow

I can not believe it, the 1st time in years...........the weather man was right. 

It's snowed!!

Yesterday morning we got up and I really wanted to go on to the aquarium but Jamie said.........the snow in coming.  I did not see a bit of snow and I thought everyone was crazy. hehe  We ended up just going to lunch and going to a few children shops in town. As we were getting ready, it started snowing. Not those little flakes, big flakes and it was sticking. I could not believe my eyes.

Sophie Clare LOVES her new car seat. She just smiles and laughs.  The only thing about it that I do not love is, when she falls asleep her little head seems to lay over to the side.  It was fun being out and about in the snow. I am sure some people thought we were crazy.

When we got home, we had about 3 inches of snow. We all went inside and change to get ready to play.

She is really checking it out. I don't think she could figure out where her feet went.

Please ignore the fact that the siding is  not on our new addition. It  will be  her Thursday and my sweet brother will be hanging it on Saturday.

I made a snow ball and I am trying to get Sophie Clare to try it. She would not have anything to do with it.

I am so glad she loved the snow. Maybe that means she will love the sand!!

When she would fall down, she would not put her hands on it. Who could blame her , it was freezing.

I am so glad it snowed. We had lots of fun. I have a lots more pics to share, so stay tuned!!

Busy As A Bee

We have been busy little bees for the past couple of days. Wednesdays are always a little crazy because we have church. I always try and stay at home those days so that Sophie Clare will have a good nap. Yesterday she got up way to early. I am talking 6:45 but the good thing was she went back to sleep around 7:30 and slept till 10:00. I had decided that I was going to rearrange some furniture and I am so glad I did. The living room looks so much better and I love the end of my hall!  Pictures will come later.

Sophie Clare was so good while I moved everything around and it totally wore her out. She ended up taking a 3 hr nap. Because of that I got to watch a movie and a show that I had dvr'd.  When she woke up it was time to cook dinner and peel some crayons for our craft at church.

We only had 2 girls last night. A couple of our other girls have had baby brothers so they have been busy playing big sister.

Here is another little craft we did. Emily is behind it, she was not in the mood for my pictures.  We also painted and made a heart book.

I do not love Valentine's Day, I never have and I probably never will.  You may ask yourself if I have had a bad experience??? I have not, but to me it is just a day for girls and ladies to be disappointed. A day for ladies to say what there husbands done for them that others did not do. It is just way overrated.

I do love Valentine's Day for Sophie Clare. I will always do something for her and do something with her to celebrate the day. I thought this year would be a good year to take her the the Tennessee Aquarium. The awesome weather people are predicting snow........about 2-4 inches........I say whatever. They never get it right.

Girls Night Out

Hello to all of my sweet and devoted blog readers!!

I hope you all are having a great weekend. All I know is that is BURRR cold!! I can not wait till Spring, so that we can actually do something outside!!  I don't mind staying in the house but come on........I can only take so much.  I have a couple of post that I am going to do this weekend, but the 1st one is on the GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!!  I have been friends with some of the girls since birth, 1st grade and 7th grade.  We have all done our share of getting along and then not so much. lol  We have spent the night together, traveled together, and many many adventures.   We all still live in the very same area and NEVER see each other.  We all have children now, except for 2 and they are not wed. Not yet anyway.  Jodi our sweet red head was kind enough to get all of this together. I can not believe that we have been out of school......14 years.....did I just type that??  

We met at The Courtyard in downtown Gadsden. It is located inside the Cultural Arts building and if you are ever in the area you should check it out.

Here we all are except for 1.........me, Andrea, Pamela, Michelle, Jodi, Jennifer, Denita (just the head), and Leslie.

You have seen Andrea before on my blog and she is the mom of that sweet Matia Grace and in 5 shorts weeks the mom to Max. I can't wait to meet that little guy!!

Everytime it snowed in high school, I would go and stay at Leslie's house.  I always had so much fun. There were times that I could not drive over there because of the roads but dad was sweet enough to take me.

This is Pamela, we always had so much fun at her house. Her sweet mom Janet taught me how to do the pony. If you do not know what that is, let me know. I might be brave enough to put a video of me doing the pony on here!! lol

We all had a lot of fun!  We talked about everything........from our children to our 1st spend the night party together, where we all laughed, cried and really bonded for the 1st time.  We even ran into one of our old high school history teachers.

White Chili

Good Morning!!

Sophie Clare and I are up way to early this morning!! She did not go to bed till 10:30 last night because of her late nap at church. I was sure that she would sleep late because she went to bed so late. I bet she takes an early nap!!

I love Winter.........foods that is, there are so many yummy soups to make!! I shared this recipe with Allison (a girl I work with) and I know my sis had been wanting it!!

WHITE CHILI

1 can great northern beans drained and rinsed

1 can condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted

2/3 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1 cup diced cooked chicken

I always add a little garlic and onion powder for some added flavor.

Stir in beans, soup, milk, cumin, garlic and onion. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered for about 20 min. Stir in chicken; heat through.

Garnish with Monterey Jack Cheese.

This only serves to but for more just double!!!

Yesterday, I just had to get out of the house. So, we headed to the thrift stores. I found Sophie Clare some really cute books but that was about it. We also went and got my nails done. I thought she was going to sleep while they did them but she woke up the min. we got there. Since they were not busy, I thought I would try it. Sophie Clare was GREAT!! She sat in my lap for a long time and just watched. Then I let her down and she just walked around!! I was so proud of her.
