Wonderful Wednesday

My first thoughts this morning was that ......Hey , I'll do Wordless Wednesday But then it turned into a wonderful day! I had to work yesterday, so my plan today was to not do much but play with Sophie Clare. We have been having some T-R-O-U-B-L-E sleeping at the past couple of nights. She is waking up about every 2-3 hours. She start crying and I can go pick her up and she stop crying the min I pick her up. I can lay her back down and you would think that she has never been to sleep. So, we sleep together for a short while on the couch, she ends up sleeping on the couch. I know it is because she can not get herself back to sleep. I just can not stand the thoughts of her crying. If she would take a passy that would help. If any of you have advice let me know! I would love to hear it!!

We woke up this morning around 7:30 and done our usual routine. We ate breakfast and played for a little while. she is such a happy baby in the morning but this morning she had an ole tummy ache. Around 8:45 we went for a walk. She loves outside, here are a couple of pics from our walk. Just look at her, she is loving it!!

Later that afternoon we went to the pool. We loaded down the stroller and off we went. When we went to the pool before, I really did not get her in because we did not have any swimmers. We do now, so when we got there and I put my feet in the pool, it was pretty chilly. I was not sure how she would like the water being cold. I first dipped her feet in and she smiled. Then I put her in her float and she squealed and laughed out loud. SHE LOVES THE WATER!! Natalie was out at the pool studying. I hated to bother her but I sure did enjoy spending a little time with her!!

Just relaxing, chewing on her rubber duck! She has little bitty feet but here they look so long. hehe

We came home and took a nap, I even laid down with her. Gran and Valerie(our cousin) came for and visit and then it was bath time. We had to get ready for church!!
We had a great girls day!!
Happy Wednesday!!

not really sure if it advice, but I always recommend a little silky blanket. Something they can get attached to - it helps with self-soothing. My Sofia never took a paci - but she did suck her thumb. WEll really her thumb just rested in her mouth - the key was the little square silky blanket. And yes she is 5 1/2 and still sleeps with the silky. I gave her a silky when she was little less than 6 months and from that point on whenever she was upset I would always give her the blanky then hold her. This got her used to it. Then eventually, if I could not stop what I was doing to try and make her happy, if she had the blanky, she would soothe herself and be fine. I think it was a lifesaver!

I got no advice for you sister!!! But, I feel your pain. My sweet baby doesn't know how to go to sleep by himself either. He can be sound asleep in my arms.....then as soon as I lay him down. His little eyes come open. Actually, I'm up with him now at 3:18 am!!! : (

I wish I had some good advice for you... I did some research myself because we were having the same problem. I read that the best way is to just let them cry it out. (extremely hard... I know. I can't stand for him to cry!) I usually let him cry no longer than 15 minutes (unless it's hysterical crying) Eventually he'll go to back sleep. But see, I've made the horrible mistake of giving him a bottle every night in bed, so when he wakes up in the middle of the night he finds his bottle and goes right back to sleep. Now he's almost 17 months old and can't go to sleep at all without a bottle! So if he wakes up crying and his bottle's empty, after those 15 min or so of crying, if he still hasn't gone back to sleep... Weak momma here just goes back in the kitchen to give him a refill. This method has saved me lots of sleep, but now I don't know how to break this bottle habit! It's just so bad for his teeth. I'm sorry this wasn't very good advice. I wish I could help you more. I absolutely know how frustrating it can be! Good luck...
