The Christmas Express

The weather is finally starting to feel like Christmas!  We had a wonderful weekend full of fun! Saturday, we enjoyed watching Emily cheer  and got to spend the day with them. Sunday, we had a great morning at church and then Sunday night a train ride!

Back in July, tickets for The Christmas Express train ride in Calera went on sale. Jamie could  not believe that we were buying tickets in July for something in December.  We normally try not to plan things on Sunday night because we do not like to miss church but in July, I guess I was not thinking clear. Anyways, we had been looking forward to this for a very long time. I could not wait to get Sophie Clare all dressed up in her pajama's.  Here she is right before she left and not thrilled about having her pic made. I had made her Christmas pics earlier that afternoon so I think she was tired of looking at the camera. ;-)
We arrived a little over an hr early but it was not a bad wait.
Sophie Clare played with the train table and enjoyed walking around seeing the trains.

We always stop here on our way to the beach and they had the luggage area filled with gifts.!

Sophie Clare heard the train coming and was getting really excited!

Finally our train arrived and we were getting ready to board.
I asked a nice to take our picture and bless her heart. This was the first pic she took.

The 2nd was better but blurry!
 oh well

We are on the train and ready to go.

We heard a story and sangs songs.

It was so much fun riding a real train!
I was glad we were not on the car in front of us, it swayed really bad.

We sat next to some really sweet people and they let Sophie Clare join them to look out the window to see Santa.

Sophie Clare was a little unsure about the "jingle bell" girls.
Yet another blurry pic.......  :-/

Getting really excited about seeing Santa. We could see him in the other car.

Santa and Mrs. Claus were so pretty!

Sophie Clare was excited to see them until they got right up to her.

We had cookie and milk!

It was tons of fun and we can't wait to do it again!

I am so glad that you enjoyed the Santa Express. You were only minutes away from my home. We visit the Heart of Dixie often. My husband and son love trains.
